　　主办：中国围棋协会、上海市应昌期围棋教育基金会。
　　奖金：冠军奖金高达高达人民币40万元（约合新台币174万元），亚军10万元。
　　规则：比赛方式与四年一屆的应氏杯世界职业围棋锦标赛相同，采用“延時罚点”的应氏计点制规则──基本时限各3小时半，无读秒，但可透过罚点方式换取时间，每罚 2点延時35分钟，双方各有三次罚点后延长时间的机会，三次都用完后“时尽裁定败”。
　　赛事历史沿革： 每年皆固定于应昌期先生冥诞日（10/23）闭幕。
